‘Unbelievable’: Toyota truck roof covering fails at Utah highway

A trailer roof coating that was designed to keep truck drivers cool in the heat of the desert was discovered to be unsafe by a Utah Highway Patrol trooper.

The highway patrol posted a video on YouTube showing a trooper stopping the truck, which had a roof coating designed to protect the truck from heat and humidity, and failing to notice the coating.

“I’ve never seen anything like this before,” Trooper Kyle Ketcham said.

“We’re going to take it apart.”

The trailer was driven by a man, who was not identified in the video, and the vehicle was not in the trailer park at the time of the crash.

The trooper, who is from Idaho, said he could not comment on the investigation.

The Utah Highway Commission, which oversees state roads, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
