Ford’s F-Series Raptor has arrived on the scene with a whole host of exciting new features and performance improvements.
The F-series Raptor will feature a new 5.0L V6, which makes it the most powerful engine in the segment, and it will be offered with a four-cylinder turbocharged 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine, which is rated at a whopping 210 horsepower.
The new engine is paired with a turbocharger that produces a whopping 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
The engine also comes with a rear-wheel drive setup, which gives the F-400 Raptor a total of 7.1-miles-per-gallon (32-kph) and combined fuel economy of 27.9 mpg (combined) and 28.2 mpg combined (combine).
Ford also says the F500 Raptor, which will be available later this year, will get a 6.2L V8, rated at 205 horsepower and 290 pound-forces of torque, which it will offer with a 4.2-liter turbocharged engine rated at 260 horsepower and 320 pound-fours.
The Raptor’s suspension is also being overhauled, with the front and rear suspension being replaced with coil springs.
The suspension will also feature a coil spring control system that allows the front end to adjust its suspension in response to the vehicle’s weight.
The engine bay is being updated as well, with a new version of the 4.6L V-8 being offered, and the 4G Hybrid option will get an engine with a 6L V4 engine rated to 190 horsepower and 265 pound-tons of torque and combined engine output of 27 mpg and 28 mpg.
The Raptor is expected to arrive later this fall, with prices beginning at $25,000.
